Walorski votes against “abortion on demand” bill, measure passes on near party-line vote

Second District Representative Jackie Walorski voted against the so-called “abortion on demand” bill that would allow abortion at any time, for any reason up until birth.

Ahead of the vote, she spoke on the House Floor.

The House took up the bill after a Texas law that bans abortions at six weeks went into effect.

The measure passed on nearly a party-line vote and now goes to the Senate where it is not expected to pass.

The following news release about Walorski’s comments ahead of the vote was sent to 95.3 MNC:

U.S. Rep. Jackie Walorski (R-Ind.) today voted against H.R. 3755, the Democrats’ radical “abortion on demand” bill that would override pro-life laws around the country. This legislation would allow abortion at any time, for any reason up until birth. It also would prohibit protections for unborn children on the basis of gender, race, ethnicity, and disability.

Ahead of the vote, Congresswoman Walorski spoke on the House Floor to implore her colleagues to join her in rejecting this extreme anti-life legislation.

“Every single person – born and unborn – should have the opportunity to live the American Dream. But this ‘Abortion on Demand’ bill would destroy our country’s future,” said Congresswoman Walorski. “[Indiana abortionist Dr. Ulrich Klopfer] left a legacy of death and destruction. That is what extreme looks like. Abortion sold as ‘health care’ is a sickening violation of human dignity that Americans should not and cannot tolerate.”

Read Congresswoman Walorski’s full remarks as prepared below and watch the video from the House Floor.

In America, the condition of a child’s birth doesn’t determine the outcome of their life.

Every single person – born and unborn – should have the opportunity to live the American Dream. But this “Abortion on Demand” bill would destroy our country’s future.

Today we are embarking on the biggest step backward in our nation’s history. This vote could be the most consequential vote that any of us take.

The science is even more clear than it was in 1973 – a child in the womb is a living person.

And yet, my colleagues on the other side remain obsessed with killing unborn babies in the name of “female empowerment.”

Many supporters of this bill like to call pro-life Americans and our convictions extreme. But, I have seen extreme – I have witnessed the cruelty of abortion, and it is ugly.

In South Bend, Indiana, Dr. Ulrich Klopfer provided abortions for decades. When he died in 2019, his family found the medically-preserved remains of 2,411 children hidden in his garage.

That is 2,411 human babies preserved in formaldehyde in jars in his garage.

This abortionist left a legacy of death and destruction. That is what extreme looks like.

Abortion sold as ‘health care’ is a sickening violation of human dignity that Americans should not and cannot tolerate. And so I ask, will we allow this to happen again?

As a nation, we have an obligation to future generations to reject “abortion on demand” and to fight for life.

I implore my colleagues to join me in opposing this bill and standing for life.

The truth is on our side, and in the end, the truth will prevail.

Walorski also voted FOR the 2022 NDAA, which enacts RED FLAG laws for the military, giving this administration the ability to REVOKE the #2A rights of any veteran WITHOUT DUE PROCESS.

RINO Walorski is a big government authoritarian who needs to be primaried by a true conservative. She has lost her way, and is not good for Indiana or America.

BINGO…she won’t get my vote again. Can we please Primary her? I’m sick of RINOs…we need an America-First candidate…

Win in the primaries, don’t lose in the election. Not voting for someone because you don’t agree with 20% of their votes does not make much sense if you usher in someone who you disagree with 100% of their votes.

Show me an option.

I completely agree. She needs to be primaried.
