Water levels were lower last month in The Great Lakes.
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers say Lakes Michigan and Huron, which share the same elevation, and Lake Superior, all had lower water levels in September.
WSJM reports that considering where the lake levels had been in recent years, all of the lakes have seen impacts from drier overall conditions that have placed them below the levels from last year and below record highs that had been seen previously.
Lake Superior, in fact, is below the seasonal long-term average for the first time in 7 years.

I believe it would be a good idea to investigate how much water is being TAKEN OUT of the Great Lakes watershed. By this I mean how much water is being removed to fill the quota of the companies who bottle and sell water. I’ve also heard that massive bags of Great Lakes fresh water are being towed behind ocean going freighters all over the world to countries who have water shortages-these bags float in sea water because they are lighter. China comes to mind. It doesn’t make sense for these water levels to go down given recent record water levels and the ample precipitation we’ve been getting. Where is the water going??
