A man was arrested on multiple driving offenses, marijuana possession and resisting after a chase from Michigan into Indiana.

The pursuit began around 7:20 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 1, in Cass County, as officers were following a BMW on South River Road.

The driver, Rob Bowers, 28, had three felony warrants and was said to be armed with a handgun, according to 95.3 MNC’s reporting partners at The Elkhart Truth.

The BMW entered Elkhart County near County Road 25 and State Line Road and the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office and Bristol police joined the pursuit.

The chase ended near County Road 6 and County Road 15 after the BMW began smoking heavily and slowing down. The driver and a passenger got out and took off on foot.

Bowers was eventually found about an hour later.

Police say they found more than 30 grams of marijuana inside the car.
