Student hospitalized after stabbing at John Adams High School in South Bend

One student was injured in a stabbing that took place at John Adams High School in South Bend.
Officers with the South Bend Police Department were called to the school shortly after 8 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 11.
The student who was wounded was taken to Memorial Hospital where their condition was stabilized.
The school was on lockdown until late morning.
The South Bend Police Detective Bureau and the school resource officer are investigating.
So far, no word about what led to the stabbing. More than one person was detained. By the end of the day, one juvenile was taken into custody and is detained at Juvenile Justice Center awaiting formal charges by St. Joseph County Prosecutor’s Office.

Wow, I’m really glad that the residents of South Bend are focused on getting the police out of schools…

Not all residents. I am a resident of South Bend with a son that attends Riley High School and I against removing the police out the schools.

So sad so tragic I would not survive in todays violent schools YOU CAN NOT LEARN if you are always worried about your safety

When i came in the door cuz I go to this school when I went inside the teachers were like, come on come on get in the classroom like I didn’t know what was going on, and the there was like 5 cop cars, and when I got in the classroom this kid in my class was freaking out cuz someone got stabbed.had a lock down so we were safe. BTW I’m in grade 9

Yes its is an isolated event isolated to South Bend
