Black Lives Matter is being sued by Indiana Attorney General Todd Rokita.

Rokita is suing, saying that BLM has not cooperated with his office’s investigative process when they were served with questions about how the organizations spent millions of dollars in donations.

“After claiming to raise $60 million there was at least one person in leadership who bought several multi-million dollar homes,” Rokita said in an interview with 93 WIBC’s Hammer and Nigel. “It was at that time I said ‘look, we are going to start asking some questions’.”

Rokita said he filed what is called a Civil Investigative Demand to the Black Lives Matter Global Network Foundation to see if the organization has violated any state laws, namely the Indiana Deceptive Consumer Sales Act or the Indiana Nonprofit Corporation Act.

“Surely, Hoosiers have donated to this organization,” Rokita said. “We know big woke corporations are part of that $60 million as well. This is not unlike someone scamming an elderly person and us going after them.”

Rokita said that in 2020, BLM raised over $90 million in funds while distributing over $21 million to 30 affiliated chapters ad organizations, which he said includes the South Bend chapter of Black Lives Matter. However, Rokita says, an IRS filing by BLM for the first half of 2020 lists zero in revenue, expenses, and assets held by the organization during that time.

“The public should know that we are fully cooperating with the investigation and have been in communication with the Attorney General’s office since March,” said Black Lives Matter South Bend in an emailed statement. “Any reports that may suggest otherwise about our chapter are untrue. We have worked tirelessly for our South Bend community and have taken steps to avoid unnecessary distractions that might divert us away from our community work.”

“Todd Rokita’s lawsuit against Black Lives Matter has little to do with the law itself and more to do with a national partisan agenda,” said Drew Anderson, spokesman for the Indiana Democratic Party. “If Rokita really did care about the rule of law, he wouldn’t have supported the Indiana GOP’s effort to overturn the 2020 presidential election AND he would hold Republican leaders accountable for breaking election laws – neither of which have happened. Rokita consistently shows the Indiana GOP has no plan for the state’s future — just partisanship.”

Rokita, a Republican, insists that his lawsuit as nothing to do with politics.

“It’s not political. I’ve already found Black Lives Matter under Indiana law to be a political organization,” he said. “Now this is just about ripping people off.”

Patrisse Cullors, the co-founder of BLM, claimed she is “triggered” every time someone even mentions IRS form 990 to her. Don’t take my word for it, look it up.

This is a scam organization propped up by some of the shadiest political players in the country.
