Nearly a dozen kayakers rescued from Dowagiac River

There were some tense moments for nearly a dozen kayakers who were rescued from the Dowagiac River.

Crews with the Niles Township Fire Department and Niles City Fire Department were called, Sunday, May 8, to the area of Creek and Kinzie Roads after the group’s kayaks overturned.

Crews used cell phone data to find them.

The kayakers were found hanging onto a log, according to Leader Publications.

Personnel were able to pull everyone to safety and no injuries were reported.

Nearly a dozen rescued? How many weren’t? All were rescued…why not just give the number. Why nearly???
