A wrongful death suit is filed by the family in the 2020 shooting inside Hardy’s bar in Elkhart.

When Jordon Norton was originally tried, the jury could not agree on Norton’s guilt regarding the murder charge, but he was charged with battery resulting in serious injury and criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon.

He is set to be retried for murder in January.

Two bars, “My Dad’s Place” and “Hardy’s Bar” are both liable for the shooting, under state law.

The lawsuit says that both bars should not have continued to serve Jordon Norton, who was visibly intoxicated.

The lawsuit is asking for compensation for medical and burial expenses.

The Elkhart Truth reports that  43-year-old David Artley was killed at the bar, when Norton allegedly shot him five times, during a fight about a seat at the bar.

One very smart rule when carrying a legal firearm, don’t drink any alcohol at all ! Being drunk and stupid in a bar is one thing, but when you carry, have a clear head. Everyone should go home safe and alive from every bar on the planet. Don’t drive drunk also. 🚫

Indeed, any alcohol in your system WILL be used against you should you ever have to use (or even draw!) your weapon in self defense or the defense of others.

Carry if you want. Drink if you want. But only choose one…

Sounds to me like the alcohol is at fault. Why not charge the alcohol companies for producing these hazardous liquids???

Don’t forget, the government issued the liquor licenses! Sue them too!
