If you are taking blood thinners or beta blockers, you might be at a higher risk of a heart attack in hot weather.
WISH TV reports that a new study from Yale University found that people taking these medications were more likely to have heart attacks if exposed to hot weather for too long, because the meds could make it difficult for the body to regulate its own temperature.
Study author Dr. Kai Chen advised, “During heat waves they should really take precaution.”
As a reminder, drink plenty of water and stay inside as much as possible on extremely hot, humid days.
