A man has been charged for sneaking up on women and assaulting them at a gas station, three separate times.

On July 21 at 5:45 p.m., a woman called police and said that a man, Bryan Ploughe, snuck up on her and touched her inappropriately while she was pumping gas at the Pilot Travel Center on Brick Road in South Bend.

On August 26, a second report was made from the same gas station.

The second victim told police that when she was leaving the gas station, Ploughe touched her.

She then chased him to his car and the manager of the station took a picture of his license plate.

ABC 57 News reports that Ploughe came back once more, on August 30, and assaulted a third victim, while she was pumping gas.

Around 7:30 p.m. on August 30, he was arrested and admitted to touching the women.

He has been charged with rape and sexual battery.

Hello, I just wanted to say that I know one of the victims. The other news outlets have chosen to run stories about this and how women need to be more aware and learn self defense. The truth of what happened is that what happened was fast and unpredictable. These women were truly victimized and there was no way they themselves could have prevented it. When will we stop putting the onus on women for these things. Women’s self defense is the last thing that should be talked about, at that point something horrible is already happening. What are the more difficult conversations we must have, the worse truths we must face about why so many men are committing sexually violent crimes in our society. Thank you.
