Police investigating shot fired on school bus

Police are investigating after a shot was fired onboard a school bus.

It happened around 4:45 p.m. on, Tuesday, Sep. 20.

Parents of students who attend Jackson Middle School learned of the incident after receiving a letter sent by school leaders.

Luckily, there were no injuries reported.

The school beefed up security on Wednesday on account of the incident.

The South Bend Community School Corporation is working with the South Bend Police department to get to the bottom of the incident.

So lets start putting security on buses too. Drivers need to focus on driving, not babysitting. If we can have police sitting at construction sites, running funeral processions, and other non patrol jobs…put them on buses and at bus stops. Are kids not as valuable as workers or the deceased family and friends?

Obvious question. If a gun was fired on the bus, then a rider ( student) had the gun. Then, the student also had the gun during the entire school day??? Students MUST be protected from other students. Where did the millions of dollars in Pandemic relief go? Not to metal detectors ???
