Democrats appear to have Michigan Senate, House, Governor’s office

For the first time in roughly 40 years, the Democratic Party has control of the Michigan Legislature.

The political hat-trick sees Gretchen Whitmer retaining the Governor’s office, and her party controlling the State Senate for the first time since 1984, and the House for the first time since 2010. That’s if current projections giving Democrats a 56-54 majority in the House hold true, along with a projected 20-18 split in the upper chamber.

This means Whitmer would have a very different second term in office, and the party will drive budget negotiations, what bills flow through committees, and what legislation is voted on.

Well Michigan, it was nice while it lasted. You’re going to beat Illinois to the finish line in the race to be the California of the Midwest!

I wonder the exact count of mail in ballots, absentee ballots and in person ballots compared to all registered voters in the state of Michigan. I don’t believe the voters of Michigan agreed or forgot what the Democrats did over the last 2 years.
