A Niles man is going back to prison after being sentenced in Berrien County.

48-year-old Jamel Rashaune Jackson pleaded guilty to fleeing police and resisting and obstructing police.

It happened in April, when Jackson damaged property worth just under $10,000.

Leader Publications reports that Jackson has 20 prior felony convictions and 39 misdemeanor convictions.

These included convictions for retail fraud, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, and assault with a dangerous weapon.

Now, he is sentenced to concurrent terms of 26 months to 5 years and 14 months to 2 years for the charges.

Build more prisons to put these career criminals. Make them do work to fund the correctional facility overhead while locked up.
