Layoffs are coming to a big employer in Gary.
U.S. Steel is planning to lay off 244 Hoosier workers at it’s Gary Works tin plant.
The company informed the state on Dec. 27 that market conditions are the reason behind the layoffs.
U.S. Steel initially idled its No. 5 tin line in late August at Gary Works, also citing market conditions. Six weeks later, the steelmaker said it was idling the entire tin operation at the flagship steel mill indefinitely.

It’s almost like letting China unilaterally manipulate the market unimpeded wasn’t a good idea after all. Maybe all those Biden supporters can explain his economic brilliance now?

The only bright side is that those are likely union jobs getting nuked, and the unions support the Democrats.
