You’ll be hearing more, this week, about Governor Holcomb’s quest for more money for Indiana teachers as part of his 2023 legislative priorities.
During his Next Level Agenda reveal, last week, Holcomb announced a plan  to increase funding for K through 12 education by $1.15 billion. That includes an increase in pay for Hoosier teachers up to $60,000 a year.
The funding increase would need to be approved by state lawmakers as part of the budget.
Holcomb also highlighted the need to maintain and improve Indiana’s social infrastructure to stay competitive with the rest of the Midwest.
You’ll hear more about his agenda during the Governor’s State Of The State Address at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 10.
You can hear the address live on 95-3 MNC.

Here’s an idea, get rid of the bloated administration at each school system then give raises to teachers. Is any given superintendent worth all that cash and bennies?

Maybe it would also help to focus on basic education funding and not on pools, stadiums, locker rooms, and fluff classes?

How many times have we seen local schools cry for a tax hike for more teacher pay, then right after the hike goes into effect they suddenly get a new swimming pool and start crying for another tax hike to increase teacher pay….
