The City of South Bend Public Works Department will hold three meetings to get feedback on its Neighborhood Traffic Calming Plan.
The Plan proposes traffic calming measures on more than 40 neighborhood streets in South Bend where speeding vehicles are frequently reported.
The public meetings will be used to gather feedback from residents about the plan. The days and locations of the meetings are listed below:
Thursday, February 16 | 5:30 – 7:00 p.m. | Rum Village Nature Center, 2626 S. Gertrude St.
Tuesday, February 21 | 5:30 – 7:00 p.m. | Howard Park Event Center, 219 S. Saint Louis St.
Thursday, February 23 | 5:30 – 7:00 p.m. | Near Northwest Neighborhood Inc. Community Center, 1013 Portage Ave.
Residents are invited to attend any of the three meetings, each held at a different location, though all three will cover the same content.

Get rid of the city Smart Streets that were a dumb idea in the first place. Make Michigan Street and Main Street one way each again. Each Street had 4 lanes of traffic flowing with timed traffic signals. The so called Smart Streets have been nothing but a gridlock traffic jam during morning and afternoon commutes.
