A bill that would allow South Bend to collect more tax revenue for entertainment venues is headed to the Governor’s desk.
Senate Bill 326 would bring $5 million to the city each year for 20 years.
The first $5 million would be evenly split between Four Winds Field improvements and South Bend Venues Parks and Arts projects.
And, the funding could even go to improvements at the Morris Performing Arts Center.
The bill would not raise taxes but would send current taxes to a special entity rather than going to the state.
The bill is expected to be signed into law by Governor Holcomb.

Why don’t they charge ND tickets sales to help, not the people
Linda, The University of Notre Dame is in the town of Notre Dame, Indiana. A separate world and not part of the city government of South Bend. The university wants it that way for good reason. South Bend, Indiana is no Ann Arbor, Michigan.

So who would pay for the missing revenue at the state level? Aren’t the Democrats the ones who always consider a tax cut to be an expense? Who pays for this?
If South Bend is such a wonderful place, they should have no problem imposing their own additional taxes onto their entertainment venues to pay for their leftist boondoggles.
