More than $8,000 in unpaid water bills to be sent to collections in Goshen

Around $8,500 of unpaid water bills are being sent to collections in Goshen.

The Goshen News reports that the Water and Sewer Office explained that when initial notices went out, there was around $10,000 in uncollected accounts.

The Goshen Board of Public Works said that around $2,000 of those debts were paid but that a total of $8,574 will be moved to collections and write-offs.

Write-offs? What exactly does that mean? Some people didn’t pay their bill and they are not going to attempt to collect the money??
