Two individuals arrested at Shoe Carnival in Elkhart following firearm incident

Two individuals were taken into custody by the Elkhart Police Department on Monday afternoon following a reported firearm incident and a stolen vehicle investigation.
The incident unfolded around 1:09 p.m. when the Elkhart City 911 Center received a call about a male suspect in a vehicle pointing a firearm at people near the Dollar General at Baldwin and Johnson Streets. The suspect vehicle left the scene, and police soon discovered it was possibly stolen.
Officers quickly located the vehicle near the Shoe Carnival at 250 East County Road 6. According to police reports, the suspects entered the store, prompting law enforcement to surround the building and call the individuals out.
At approximately 1:44 p.m., officers took two male suspects into custody as they exited the store. No injuries were reported, and the investigation remains active.
