Renovated Central Park in Mishawaka includes climbing tower, splash pad and bathrooms

Renovations at Mishawaka’s Central Park have proven to be popular after nearly 1,000 people attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony on Friday night and many more visited the park over the weekend, as reported by the South Bend Tribune.

The $4.9 million project includes a climbing tower with a web of climbing ropes and soft padding underneath, a splash pad and a new bathroom building.

The park also features LED lights along the pedestrian bridge, similar to the river lights on the St. Joseph River in downtown South Bend.

Some park features aren’t complete yet. Find out when the tennis and basketball courts will be open and see a photo in the full story from the South Bend Tribune.
