September 11 victims to be remembered during Patriot Day Memorial in South Bend

The people who died in the September 11 attacks will be memorialized during a Patriot Day ceremony in St. Joseph County on Friday, Sept. 11.

The Patriot Day Memorial service begins at 9 a.m. at St. Patrick’s County Park, 50651 Laurel Road, South Bend.

South Bend Bagpipers will present the American flag and the Adams High School Show Choir will perform the National Anthem.

Special guests who will attend the event include U.S. Sen. Joe Donnelly; Brian Spaulding, the director of U.S. Rep. Jackie Walorski’s office; St. Joseph County Commissioner Andrew Kostielney; Brian Pawlowski, deputy chief of staff for South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg; Asst. Chief Bill Thompson with the St. Joseph County Police Department; Mishawaka Fire Chief Dale Freeman; and South Bend Fire Chief Stephen F. Cox.
