Elkhart officers honored with Quiet Hero Award for reducing noise pollution

Lt. Casey Lehman with the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Department and Officer Mike Bogart, formerly with the Elkhart City Police Department, were presented with the first of its kind, “Quiet Hero” award, this past week, in recognition for efforts in enforcing county noise ordinances and reducing noise pollution.

Ted Rueter, President of Noise Free America, and Bradley Vite, a local anti-noise advocate, spoke about the issues connected with noise, calling noise is a paramount health issue. It is the new 2nd hand smoke crisis. It causes gastrointestinal problems, high blood pressure and heart disease. And it’s the only area of medicine and health that has worsen not improved.”

The mission of Noise Free America is to raise the issue of noise pollution with federal, state, and local officials, as well as to educate the public about the dangers of noise pollution.

You have entered the twilight zone! We now give awards to officers for saying “be quite” SHSHSHSHSHSHS! Just a matter of time until there will be a new tax to subsidize special training to go SHSHSHSHSHSHS! Probably will only be for college graduates though. Must be very intellectual to perform this highly awarded task…So important? Just think how many lives are saved every time this officer goes SHSHSHSHSHSH! Awesome!

Wow telling people to shut up gets awards, well I been telling people to shut up my whole life and never got an award for it or called a hero, what high standards our law enforcement has the tell you to shut up but won’t go and arrest a murderer or drug addict in Elkhart instead they like to play let’s make a deal and let the true criminals walk free this city and county is crooked
