For the fourth time in the past six months, an Indiana State Trooper was struck by a drunk driver.

Police say it happened around 3:40 a.m. on Sunday, Sep. 4.

Trooper Ryan Parent was performing a traffic stop on Ridge Road in Hobart at the time.

He was in his car, visible with the emergency lights on, when a black Pontiac Grand Prix struck his car.

Parent and the driver of the Pontiac, Angela Cabello, were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

While investigating the crash, officers found evidence that made them believe Cabello was under the influence.

A blood test is currently pending while Cabello was taken to jail for three charges of driving while intoxicated and two for possessing marijuana.

Four times in six months ? I would say he should do some other kind of job in the State Police. Perhaps stop working the drunk night shift and go to days.

I’m pretty sure it was four troopers, not the same guy 4 times.
