Gordy Young coming back to Michiana

(ABC57)

A Michiana broadcasting legend is coming back home.

Gordy Young, a former morning news anchor on 953 MNC who spent 16 years co-anchoring 16 Morning News on WNDU, will bring you the news Saturday and Sunday mornings on ABC 57.

Gordy will start on the air next month.

He first came to South Bend in 1994 as the energetic on-air meteorologist on Channel 16, working with Tricia Sloma and creating memorable moments on the air, including “Rodney The Rodent”.

He also hosted and co-produced the WNIT-PBS program “Experience Michiana,” before moving to Wisconsin in 2015.

Young says he’s “thrilled and excited to return to the airwaves in Michiana.”
