Elkhart woman charged with robbery using lawn mowing scheme appears in court

Elkhart Police // Alyssa Foster

An Elkhart woman charged with robbery appeared in court last week after failing to appear for her initial hearing in August.

Antaysha Curry reportedly made a Facebook post early one day, asking if anybody had a lawn her son could mow for money.

The victim made arrangements for Curry to come on May 11 to cut their lawn.

The victim was not home when Curry got there, but they got back home about 40 minutes later and found a partially-mowed lawn and Curry exiting the home.

The victim stated that several items, such as a Playstation 4 Pro, a Chromebook, change jars and more were missing when she went inside.

A mutual friend tried to contact Curry to encourage her to return the stolen items, but in the end, an address was provided and the items were recovered.

Curry’s jury trial is currently scheduled for May 20.
