On Tuesday, Oct. 28, around 12:10 p.m., South Bend Police responded to the 500 block of W. Colfax on the report of shots fired.

Upon arrival, they located an adult male, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. He was ultimately declared deceased at the scene.

His name is being withheld pending next-of-kin notifications.

This remains an active and ongoing investigation by our Violent Crimes Unit.
