Two 20-year-olds have been arrested and charged in connection with an October shooting that wounded a juvenile at the Miami Hills Apartments in South Bend.

Police say the case began on October 22, 2025, when officers were called to Memorial Hospital for a walk-in gunshot victim. The teen was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigators later determined the shooting took place at the Miami Hills complex. The South Bend Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit identified two suspects: Torrence Caston and Johnathan Williams.

Working with the St. Joseph County Prosecutor’s Office, detectives secured charges against both men. Caston is charged with Robbery Resulting in Bodily Injury and Battery by Means of a Deadly Weapon. Williams faces a charge of Robbery Resulting in Bodily Injury, along with an additional count of Resisting Law Enforcement after he allegedly tried to flee during a related search warrant.

Both suspects are being held at the St. Joseph County Jail.
