A fatal crash involving a car and a Transpo bus shut down multiple lanes near Grape Road and Imus Drive.

Mishawaka police and firefighters were called to the scene around 7:45 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 21, after a car lost control on wet pavement, crossed into oncoming traffic, and struck the bus head-on. The impact left both the driver and passenger of the car dead.

Only two people were on the bus at the time — the driver and one passenger — and both are expected to be okay, according to officials.

Emergency crews confirmed the crash was fatal shortly after 8:30 p.m. The area remained an active scene for several hours, and authorities urged drivers to avoid the intersection.
