South Bend woman sentenced to federal prison for fraud charges

A South Bend woman has been sentenced to 52 months in federal prison for conspiracy to commit wire fraud, wire fraud, and theft of government money.
Tonya R. Winston, 60, has also been ordered topay $453,808 in restitution.
Prosecutors say Winston submitted false applications to obtain multiple COVID “Paycheck Protection Program” loans for herself and others.
They say she also illegally received local housing benefits by lying about her finances.
