Warsaw police are investigating an armed robbery that happened at about 3 p.m. Thursday, June 18, at Low Bob’s Discount Tobacco in the 700 block of Detroit Street.

The employee who was held up told police the suspect approached the counter after choosing some incense and cigars and asked for cigarettes, according to a news release from Warsaw Police.

As the clerk turned back around, the suspect pointed a gun at the clerk and demanded cash from the register. The clerk couldn’t get the register open, so the suspect walked around the counter and opened it, according to the news release. The suspect then grabbed an undetermined amount of cash, ordered the clerk to get on the ground and then left the store.

The suspect drove off in a white car. The clerk was not injured.

The suspect is described as a black man, around 25 years old, thin and approximately 6 feet tall. The suspect was wearing a white baseball cap, white shirt, and dark pants.
