Select U.S. Postal Service offices to be open on Sundays before Christmas

Five local U.S. Postal Service locations will be open for limited hours on Sunday, Dec. 13, and Sunday, Dec. 20, ahead of the Christmas delivery rush.

The offices will be open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. for customers to walk in to mail items, according to a news release from the USPS. The USPS is also delivering packages — but not standard mail — seven days a week until Christmas.

“As we count down to the holidays, we know how stressful the season can be as we rush to get everything done on time,” Larry Diegel with USPS said in a news release. “Opening on Sundays… will help our customers check holiday mailing off their list.”

The following locations will be open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dec. 13 and 20:

  • South Bend Main Office — 424 S. Michigan St., South Bend
  • Edison Park — 2417 Edison Road, South Bend
  • Chippewa — 4015 S. Main St., South Bend
  • Mishawaka — 111 E. Third St., Mishawaka
  • Elkhart — 601 S. Main St., Elkhart
