A Granger man who motivated by revenge earned a prison sentence to match his age Monday.

20-year-old Zachary Sanders pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter last month. Monday, he received a 20-year prison sentence for the crime.

In February, an SUV hit Troy Mapes in Crawford Park. Prosecutors say 20-year-old Zachary Sanders was behind the wheel of the vehicle and that he ran over Mapes. This after the teen robbed him at gunpoint during an alleged drug sale, according to the South Bend Tribune.

Sanders said he felt like he was in danger and that’s when he hit the gas, which caused him to run over Mapes.
