Goshen Police aren’t 100% sure how a man suffered head injuries Sunday, but they have an idea.

Officers were called to the Goshen Hospital emergency room at around 2:30 p.m. Sunday. They were told a man was brought in the hospital with a head injury, according to the Goshen Police Department.

The 24-year-old Goshen man had been involved in a vehicle incident that morning. At around 5 a.m, he somehow fell out of the side of a vehicle being driven by his ex-girlfriend from Ligonier. She says that he was having a tough time with their break-up, according to police.

The Goshen man was helped up to his feet and refused medical attention. Later in the day, he started showing signs of physical duress and he was rushed to Goshen Hospital. His injuries were deemed to be too severe for treatment there, and he was transferred to Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne.

Police are still investigating. However, they do believe this was a domestic violence incident of some sort, according to a press release.
