Man shot on E. Eckman Street in South Bend

A man was taken to the hospital with serious injuries after a shooting in South Bend.

The shooting happened during the late evening hours of Thursday, June 15, in the 100 block of East Eckman Street.

On arrival, officers with the South Bend Police Department found the victim on the front porch of a home suffering from at least one bullet wound, according to 95.3 MNC’s reporting partners at ABC 57.

South Bend Police say a suspect, 22 year old Montel Jackson, has reportedly confessed to the shooting. Charges are pending.
