Racist graffiti has been found at St. Mary’s College.
While the investigation is underway to discover the person or persons behind it, University President Jan Cervelli issued a statement saying hate and bias-related incidents, including the graffiti, occurred this past weekend.
She called the incidents an affliction that undermines the mission of high education.
She encourages the campus community to speak out against injustice, racism and bigotry and to support those who suffer from its effects.
College President Jan Cervelli sent an email to the Saint Mary’s community retiring the College’s commitment to “an environment free from unlawful discrimination, harassment or retaliation” after race-related graffiti appeared on campus.https://t.co/ZC4G780a2B
