Purdue Northwest in LaPorte County closed due to boil water order

WESTVILLE, Ind. (AP) — Purdue University Northwest’s campus in Westville says it’s closed because of a boil water order for the LaPorte County town.

The school posted a message on its website saying it will be closed Tuesday with an anticipated reopening at noon Wednesday. It says all classes are cancelled through noon Wednesday.

The closing affects only the Westville campus.

The (Northwest Indiana) Times reports the town’s website and a message on the town hall telephone line say a valve malfunctioned at the water plant and may be causing lower than usual water pressure.
