An Elkhart County corrections officer has powered his way to a gold medal.

Thomas Davis is a professional bench-press weightlifter known to bodybuilding and Arnold Classic fans as “TD Smash“.

Well, Davis smashed it at the Arnold Classic earlier this month at the Arnold Classic in Columbus, Ohio, bench pressing 628 pounds to win the gold medal in the pro bench competition. In fact, he out-lifted the second place finisher by nearly 94 pounds.

Davis will now represent America in the IPF Bench Press Championships, which take place in May in Finland.

Davis told the Goshen News that one reason he started lifting was because he had issues with rage, and lifting helps get rid of “demons” he has in his soul.
