The Electric Lions from South Bend’s LaSalle Intermediate Academy have made it to the Global Finals for the second year in a row.

The team competed in the Destination Imagination Challenge in September, with 6 of the 7 students who competed for the team last year, when they finished 10th out of 49.

This year, the Electric Lions chose the Fine Arts Challenge, which taught them to use different types of artistic media and theater arts, write and produce a musical, and meet other criteria.

LaSalle placed 2nd in the Northern Regional competition in March, whcih qualified them for the State competition this month. They finished 1st at state and qualified for the Global Finals.

The Electric Lions are in need of additional funding for the trip in May, because it isn’t paid for by the school.
