A church in Elkhart is standing behind Indiana Attorney General Curtis Hill, amid calls for him to resign.

The controversy surrounding Hill, an Elkhart native and former County prosecutor, has a number of lawmakers calling for his own impeachment, and even the governor calling for him to step down.

WSBT reports that Pastor Phil Byars of the First Baptist Church in Elkhart gave a sermon in defense of Hill on Sunday, while Hill’s wife was in attendance.

“What bothers me, if I could just be real with you on this, is that there are brothers who are already making decisions about this before there is any evidence or any verdict in the matter at all,” Byers told WSBT.

No timetable has been set for any formal impeachment process.

Why is this Pastor more worried about Curtis Hill than he is his own daughter’s killer’s who are STILL waiting on trial, almost three years later. Where is his demand for justice? Where is his outrage? Doesn’t he have bigger fish to fry? Amanda Blackburn was her name.
