Search continues for driver after hit/run crash at SR 23 and Mayflower Road

Police are looking for the driver of a white SUV after a hit-and-run crash in South Bend.

Police were called to the scene shortly after 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 23. A witness says the collision happened when the SUV pulled out of the Walgreens on Western Avenue onto Lombardy, and struck the motorcycle.

The witness claimed the SUV never even slowed down after the crash.

The motorcyclist’s injuries were not life-threatening.

The vehicle was found at State Road 23 and Mayflower Road a few hours afterward.
