Niles City Council race recount over, Timm wins by drawing

A recount has confirmed that Travis Timm was the winner of the City Council race in the Niles 2nd District.

The hand-recount confirmed that the race was a tie: 377 to 377.

With that, the piece of paper Timm pulled out during a drawing did, indeed, make him the winner.

According to election officials, there were more than 130 ballots that skipped the race entirely. So, it could have been very different if just one of those people took time to vote.
