Two topics high on the priority list for State Senator David Niezgodski of South Bend will be studied this summer.
The topics are “worker misclassification” and “adoption subsidies.” Niezgodski says both affect Hoosiers from all walks of life.
He says the study into issues surrounding worker misclassification could provide valuable insight in terms of lost state revenue and that studies have shown those gains could exceed $400 million annually for the state.
Niezgodski says studying adoption subsidies could lead to some needed change in the way the Department of Child Services assesses foster children so adoptive families can be awarded fair subsidies in the future.
