A man died from cardiac arrest after he was hit by lightning.

It happened Saturday when officials say a storm blew over Lake of the Woods, according to WNDU.

Richard Eberhardt, 65, and a friend were in a pontoon boat and were trying to make it to shore as lightening began to hit around the lake. One of the strikes hit their boat.

Eberhardt’s friend was not injured, he was given CPR but they were not able to resuscitate him.
