Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer has extended the state’s emergency order to May 28.

Michigan lawmakers refused to extend the State of Emergency, then passed a measure allowing them to sue the governor over her use of executive power.

Whitmer used a workaround to sign three new orders including the extension and restrictions on public spaces.

She said, repeatedly, this week, she is trying to save lives and is disappointed Republican lawmakers are playing politics.
