Pandemic sparks rise in hunting, fishing licenses

Hunting and fishing licenses are soaring this year, despite the ongoing pandemic.

In fact, it’s because of the coronavirus that more licenses are being issued, according to wildlife officials in many states, as many Americans are weary of being cooped up at home.

WNDU reports in Michigan, the number of people obtaining hunting licenses for the first time in at least five years has jumped 80%.

The trend reverses a steady decline in hunting that appeared permanent before this year.
