A Middlebury bus manufacturer will be allowed to expand after a vote of approval by the Elkhart County Redevelopment Commission.

Arboc Specialty Vehicles, which makes low-floor and electric transit vehicles, is planning a three-phase expansion between now and 2023, according to 95.3 MNC’s reporting partners at The Elkhart Truth.

It starts with sewer upgrades and continues with building expansions with a total price tag of $7.5 million.

The company employs nearly 150 workers and will add to that once the expansion is finished in 2023.
