South Bend woman, 43, killed in head-on crash in Cass County

A South Bend woman was killed and two other people were hurt in a head-on crash in Pokagon Township.

The collision happened around 4:30 p.m. on M-51 near Crystal Springs Road.

Denise Lamb, 43, was driving southbound on M-51 when she swerved into oncoming traffic, hitting a northbound vehicle head-on, according to the Cass County Sheriff’s Office.

Lamb died at the scene.

The driver of the vehicle that was struck and a passenger in that car were taken to St. Joseph Medical Center for treatment. A 1-year/old child in that car escaped injury.

Factors into the crash remain under investigation.
