Gas prices are up ten cents from where they were two weeks ago, and nearly a dollar from this time last year.
The average price for gas across Indiana is $3.53 per gallon, according to Patrick DeHaan at GasBuddy, up 17 cents from where it was last Monday.
The prices are rising because of the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict. Russia is the world’s second-largest producer of oil. Prices are also climbing because this is the time of year when increases usually occur.
Monday afternoon there was still one station in South Bend selling it for $2.99 a gallon, making the average price in the city $3.29.
