This tax season, the IRS is warning you to be aware of some common scams.

The organization says “phishing” schemes will likely involve fraudulent emails that appear to be from the IRS but are from scammers.

“Smishing” scams involve text messages that may indicate issues with “your account,” along with links that are supposedly going to help resolve the issues.

So, if you get any messages with suspicious links, avoid clicking on those links.
