Salvation Army of Elkhart sees less donations

openverse.com

The Salvation Army of Elkhart says donations are falling behind during this year’s Christmas Campaign.

However, they say the demand for assistance keeps growing.

Major Tim Nauta says financial support collected now makes up a major part of the group’s annual budget, and he’s urging the community to step up.

Donations can be mailed or dropped off at their North Main Street office, made online by clicking HERE, or placed in red kettles at area Walmart, Martin’s, Hobby Lobby, Kroger and Harding’s stores.

The campaign runs through January, and officials say increased generosity will help provide resources that restore dignity and hope.

White donors are honoring the Salvation Army’s 2021 request for them to apologize for their “unconscious bias” by donating to other organizations instead.

I don’t blame those donors one bit.
