The Fraternal Order of Police Lodges #36 and #155 have announced the annual tribute and memorial service to those fallen in the line of duty is scheduled for May 17 in front of the South Bend Police Station.
The South Bend Police Department has lost 15 officers and the St. Joseph County Police Department has lost one officer, but the national loss of officers remains far greater.
Community members are welcome to attend the 7:30 p.m. memorial, and a live-stream will be available on Facebook for those unable to attend.
